El Deafo~Author Cece Bell~stars 4 stars~ rating 18 points
My opinion on El Deafo is pretty different than from other people’s opinion. At the beginning of the novel I felt like the dialogue was very choppy and a little bit hard to understand in my point of view. Don’t get me wrong the book had a lot of relatable scenes and touching lines, but the middle was the only part I really enjoyed. It captured the moral of the story “True friend are like no other.” It also has the true meaning of being different “If you spend more time doing your own thing then you won’t get caught up in everybody else’s thing.

Lately I have been reading a book called El Deafo by Cece Bell. This is about a girl who got sick and became deaf. Cece has crazy adventures throughout this book. Cece went through many problems throughout the book. In kinder garden everything was okay because everyone in her class had hearing aids too. In first grade was when the problems started. When she was eating one day she met agirl and they became best fiends . there was a problem though, the girl was way too bossy. She put up with it until 3rd grade! In third grade Cece went to another sleep over which made her and her best friend split up. Cece got very scared at the sleepover and went home. A few days later she found a best friend Emma and they became best friends. They had the best time ever until morning! They were playing Tag and Cece poked her eye on a tree branch and Emma thought it was her fault. Cece needed glasses and Emma would still not talk to her. One day they talked on the bus and they made up. They became best friends and never fought again.
Title: EL DEAFO
I was reading El Deafo by Cece Bell. The main character , Cece, is deaf . Then she needs to get glasses. During the book, she gets friends. Then she loses them. I realy liked this book. I liked it so much ,I read it 3-4 times. I have never read a book like this. This book was organized. I was never confused. Also, it had good plot language. I gave it 5 stars because it had a lot of details. This book was funny, touching, and so smart all at the same time.

In El Deafo there was a lot of details and interest. It was good at keeping you thinking “What will happen next?’’ El Deafo was an original book because not all books are about a deaf girl. The book was organized cleverly. Every turning point the chapter changes. The setting sometimes showed the mood . When Cece got hurt in the eye, it was a sunny day you wouldn’t expect it.There were so many characters I had a hard time remembering all of them.
Love it. Your right.
