cliffhanger every time the chapter ended , point of view , and shocking scenes you would never expect. I think you will find the characters awesome and hard to forget . So I think you will read Pax and love it just like I did , because the author adds so much description and detail . Like this: “With a single finger , Peter had traced it’s ears , unfurling like ferns from its face, and its paws, miraculously tiny, and the soft fur of its neck, slick with his mother’s tears.”That is my favorite line in the book because of the description of the tiny bunny body in Peter’s hands. I hope that now that when you read the book Pax by Sarah Pennypacker that you look for descriptive language and really get into the book. Pax has so many descriptions that you can almost feel, taste, and see what the author is describing. I think you can see that Pax is my new favorite book.

Pennypacker wrote a book about a fox named Pax and a boy named Peter. This is a book about a boy and his pet fox. They were in separable, but this all changed one day when a war happened, and they were separated. Soon the boy set off to find his pet fox. I rated this book 17 out of 24 rubric rating and 3 out of 5 stars. I truly think Pennypacker could have done better on the, plot language. She uses too much Depiction; she takes a paragraph for someone to do one motion. For example, one chapter one page two, she said, ”It was then that the fox realized his boy was crying he twisted around to study his face to make sure.” As you can see, said stuff like “It was then that the”. The words took up half a sentence. She also took two sentences to show one motion. Pax has its ups and downs and its setting is one of them. I think the setting is quite relevant to the story. For example, on chapter eight peter ran into Vola, she was in the middle of nowhere. I know that because she said, “I live out in the middle of the woods”. Finally, there is Originality in Pax’s storyline. No book I ever read had the idea of a war separating a boy and his pet. However it is similar to Counting Thyme. Instead of war Counting Thyme about sickness separating family. Overall Pax was truly a great book.
