Auggie knows Julian is a bully when he keeps making rude comments about his face and cut in in front of him. Julian bullies him and others by getting others to team up against Auggie and Jack Will. Julian bullies others to be mean to Auggie because he hopes to gain that Auggie feels bad about how he looks. The role Julian's mom plays is she encourages Julian not to be friends with August. But Auggie and all of his friends don't care about Julian's bullying by the end of the story.

Auggie knows that Julian is a bully at first because he got a group of kids together to be against him. Julian bullied Auggie by trying to get Jack to be with him instead of working with Auggie on the science fair project. Also he made fun of how his face looks. He teams up with other kids to feel better about himself. He hopes to be better than every one else. Julian's mom wants him to be a bully so other kids think he is in charge of them. Auggie's classmates all want to be friends with Auggie and be on his side by the end of the story.

Auggie knows Julian's a bully when he first meets him because while they're walking Julian cuts in front of Auggie, making him stumble backwards. He also says sorry but doesn't really mean it. Julian bullies Auggie and Jack making almost everyone turn against them, in ways that include getting other people to nearly stop interacting with them, and making some people completely stop interacting with them. I believe Julian bullies Auggie so that people won't accept him, and so that everyone thinks he's cool and so everyone likes him. He hopes to gain people's respect. Julian's mom plays a major role in Julian's life, and she's sets a bad example. For instance, she Photoshop's Auggie's face out of the class picture. I've got a feeling that his mom encouraged him to bully Auggie, or to give him a hard time. Auggie's classmates and his classmates' just didn't put up with it. For instance, "Henry and Miles hung out with Amos all the time now, like they switched best friends." No one really liked Julian after that. That's what I think of the story.

The characteristics of a good friend are being kind, loyal, looking out for each other, and standing up for each other. Jack is a loyal friend even though he said mean things behind August' s back just to sound cool. He punched Julian in the face just because he called August a freak.
Summer is kind. She left the popular group of girls and sat with August at lunch instead.
Amos looks out for August. At the nature reserve some 7th graders August and Jack ran into in the woods started being mean to Auggie, and Amos came and rammed right into the leader Edward and knocked him over. He shouted to Auggie run.
Auggie is a kind, loyal, brave, and stands up for others. At the nature reserve he could of ran to safety from the bullies, but he didn't he stood up for Jack and said"were smaller then you guys."
Auggie can do ordinary things like eat ice cream and go to school he has gotten used to people staring at him. He ignores it. He is very comfortable in his own skin.

I am doing the Question about Julian (Question 1)

In the chapter 'Performance Space' it states in the chapter that they had a conversation about Auggie's face Julian asked "did you come out a fire?"
In the chapter "The War" and the chapter "Sides" it talks about Charlotte telling Jack, Auggie, and Summer who's on who's side. talks about what recently happened on Julian's side.
What he is hoping to gain from the war is for Jack to not be friends with Auggie or, for Auggie to quit school.
It states in the book that Julian's mom is trying to get Auggie kicked out of the school, but Mr.Trushman doesn't like that idea and, is making changes in the school's assignments such as instead of a self-portrait it's drawing yourself as an animal.
At the end of the book people all know Julian is the bully and even some of Julian's best friends are friends with Auggie. For example, Julian's friend Henry says in his precept "Don't be friends with jerks" referring to Julian.

Q.1: Auggie first realizes Julian is a bully in chapter nine "The Grand Tour". The first time Julian is rude is when it says Julian smirks when Auggie asks what homeroom was, then Julian asks the rude question, and finally when Julian gets in front of Auggie he causes Auggie to stumble. Julian bullies Auggie and others by talking about them behind they're backs, teasing them, and calling them names. Julian hopes to gain popularity and power over Auggie. Julian's mom helps to bully Auggie by photo shopping Auggie's face in the class picture and sending the picture to other moms. Auggie and his classmates are tired of Julian bullying Auggie and are turning off of Julian's side and are turning on to Auggie's side.

Part 2 The careristics of a good freind are kind caring and they see you not by your look but how you act. Summer demonstrated these qualties when she was the only one who ate lunch with him. Jack shows because he one of the only ones that talk to him. Auggie helps his friends see him as a normal person because he lets his friends get used to him. Auggies friends protect him from some seventh grade bullies wich makes him more comfortabal.

Question 1 To me good friends stand up for each other. They are kind to each other no matter how they look. Amos demonstrated these qualities. When the tough seventh graders bullied August, Amos stood up and fought back. August is also a good friend because he doesn't take friendship for granted. He thanked his friends for standing up for him when the seventh graders were being mean. August helps his friends see him as ordinary in many ways. August said himself that he does ordinary things, like playing with his XBOX and riding his bike. August's ability to be okay in his own skin makes it easier for his friends to relate to him in a way. August gets bullied a lot. Since his friends hang out with him, they get bullied to.

In the book Wonder by R.J Palacio August gets deeply bullied with harsh words ,mean letters and people teasing. Auggie has a very rough time in school. Dealing with Julian and some of his friends.
The author speaks very strongly about friendship in this book. Summer selflessly comes out of her way to sit to sit with Auggie at the lunch table.
In the chapter ''The Bleeding Scream'' Jack passes a rude comment just to sound cool so that he does not have a bad image of himself before Julian. When he realizes that Auggie has created a distance between them he tries to figure out the reason as to ''why'' until Summer gives him a hint by saying Bleeding Scream.
Miranda was one character who accepted the way he was. She spent a major part of her childhood trying to include hi in everything until she hit high school. She even watched 6 seasons of Star Wars with him.
The story takes a total different turn at the nature reserve camp, when Auggie and Jack land themselves in trouble with some 7th grade bullies. It was Miles, Henry and Amos who come to their rescue.
Nevertheless can't deny Auggies loyalty and bravery when Edde the

Here is my Wonder response. Auggie knows that Julian is a bully when he first meets him by hearing him say"What happened with your face were you in a fire or something?" Also Julian bullied Auggie and others by turning the whole grade against Jack so he won't be freinds with Auggie. He bullies others to team up against Auggie because of his face. He hopes to gain everybody's friendship and leave Auggie with no friends. Julian's mom played a part in Julian being a bully by only caring about a class photo or herself. Then Julian probably copied off. Auggie and his classmates thought that it was just mean so they stopped encouraging or helping him bully. I really loved this book!

Question 1: Julian bullies Auggie and others by being prejudice and he bullies people that are Auggie's friend. Once, Julian told Jack that he didn't have to hang out with "the freak" so then Jack stood up for Auggie and punched Julian in the mouth!
Julian also liked to laugh when he got the chance to call Auggie names or when his friends did. They gave him names like E.T., Zombie kid, orc, freak, et cetera, et cetera.
Auggie knew Julian was a bully ever since he met him because he asked mean questions like, "were you in a fire or something?" He also avoided to touch Auggie because he made something about Auggie called The Plague where if you touch Auggie, you have to wash your hands or use hand sanitizer in thirty seconds. If you don't, you have The Plague. But Auggie's friends didn't care about The Plague.
Julian bullies others so he can technically force them to join his side because he would stop bullying them when they joined his side. So when he got a big enough group, they started bullying Auggie and his friends so, so much.
Julian's mom's part in the bullying was to put Auggie in the special ed class or even kick him out of the school. But Mr. Tushman, the principal, didn't let her do any of them. So the result was Julian not coming back to Beecher Prep Middle School.

the 7th grade bully pushes Jack and makes him fall, though Auggie has the opportunity to run but no he doesn't , instead he stands by Jack.

Auggie is very much like any other ordinary kid. He eats ice cream, plays ball, rides a bike and has a Xbox.

His ability to be normal and relate to other people in the most normal way is by ignoring their stares rude comments and their weird looks makes it easier for his friends and family to relate to him.

The character traits of a good a friend is being kind and loyal.Jack is one of Auggies friends that demonstrated this.Jack show loyalty by standing up for August when the seventh greatest hurt and made mean comments about his face.Auggie posses bravery and kindness. The bravery comes from him getting through bullying like when he was bullied at the nature retreat. The kindness comes from him not lashing out at any of the bully's he encountered. He helped his friends see him as a normal kid by showing things such as:owning a Xbox and riding his bike.He even states theese things near the beginning of the story. Finally,Auggie's ability to be comfortable in his own skin makes it easier for his friends and family to relate to him by showing how much he has been through and that he can survive middle school.

August already knew from the start that Julian was a bully, because he interrupted Charlotte on pg. 28, and laughed at Jack Will because August thought Jack Will's name was "Jackwill" on pg. 26. He also asked August a rude question and told Jack to shut up on pg. 29. And if that wasn't enough evidence for you, look on pg. 33 and read the following sentences-

"That boy Julian seemed especially nice," Mom said.
"Oh, no, he was the least nice. I liked Jack, though. He was nice. I thought his name was Jack Will, but it's just Jack."

As you can see, Julian doesn't have a very bright side on him. But wait, you haven't seen anything yet...

Julian bullies August and other people by first picking off on other innocent kids, then forcing them to be on his team so they can hurt August and his feelings by teasing him about his "deformed" face, referring to him as "the freak",etc. However, August's friends help him out and defend him (which was a great addition to the story). Julian hopes to gain power over August, and to do it, he's trying to get the whole 5th grade against him.

Finally, Julian's mother plays a part of Julian being a bully because, first of all, she is the vice president of the school board, so she knows everyone at the school and can boss around the principal, Mr. Tushman. It says in pg. 171 that Mrs. Albans is trying to get the school to review August's application to Beecher due to the fact that Beecher Prep not being an inclusion school*, which means Beecher can't mix normal kids with kids having special issues or needs, and Julian's is technically saying that August can't be at Beecher Prep!

So, that's the complete story of why I think Julian is a bully to August. Thank you for using your time to read this, and I hope you have a WONDER-ful day! :)

*In other words, Mrs. Albans is seeing if August can be kicked out!!! :(

In the book Wonder by R.J Palacio the characteristics of a good friend that probably any friend should show are kindness, care, and they should be willing to stick up for someone no matter what they look like. I think that Jack showed theses traits because he stood up for Auggie twice. Once when Julian was being rude on the first day of school and once when Eddie and some other kids started a fight in the woods Jack fought for Auggie. Jack cites in the book that he likes being Auggie's friend. I think that Jack is so kind. It says in the book on Jack's point of view, that he would never make fun of Auggie and he also says in the book that Julian is a bully and he doesn't like him, just like Auggie. So I think that Jack is the best friend for Auggie.

August knows that Julian is a bully when he first met him by seeing that he tripped him and said a sarcastic sorry. Also, Julian put notes in Jack and August's lockers. The notes said that he was ugly and some more stuff on top of this that harassed them.Sometimes Julian comments on his face and cuts in front of him in line.

Julian also teams up against August by getting his friends to bully him, and move away from him. Julian also hopes that August will get out of the school and Jack will be friends with him.

The role that Julian's mom is doing is being a bully. I know that because she tried to expel August by saying that the school was not for kids with special needs. So Julian's mom tried to help her son be a bully.

At the end of the story everyone got on Jack and August's side of the war because they heard what has happened to him. No one liked Julian anymore because August kept getting harassed.

I am doing question 1 about Julian bullying.

Auggie knows Julian is a bully at first because Julian rudely asks Auggie what was wrong with his face. He also says he thought Auggie had been in a fire on pg. 29. Julian bully's kids by teasing them and making them look bad. For example on pg.30 Julian cuts in front of Auggie witch causes him to stumble backwards then Julian acts as if he hadn't done anything bad and acting sorry, but Auggie knew he didn't mean it. Julian wants to gain respect from Jack+Auggie and the rest of the school, for example on pg.172 Jack's mother tells him that Julian is trying to turn him against Auggie. Julian thinks Jack will be happy for it and he will respect him. On pg. 161-162 it proves that Julian's mother is kind of supporting him to be a bully in the email she sends to Dr.Tushman.By the end of the story everyone knows that Julian is a big bully who mostly taunts Auggie. Even some of his friends are with Auggie too. It also states in the end of the book that Julian's friend Henry writes in his precept don't hang out with jerks. Witch basically of course was referring to Julian.

Question 2:
The characteristics of a good friend is measuring their character and not their looks. One of Auggie’s friends that demonstrated this quality is Summer. In the chapter Weird Kids, she thought to herself, “Some kids have actually come out and asked me why I hang out with “the freak” so much. These kids are kids that don’t even know him that well.” A characteristic that Auggie shows is kindness. Auggie helps his friends to think he’s ordinary by doing stuff like playing his Xbox and showing his friends his Star Wars collection. Auggie’s ability to be comfortable in his own skin makes it easier for his friends and family to relate to him. For example, Summer was use to people saying things like, “why do you hang out with a freak”.

Question 2:
Good friends never lie to their friends. They never walk away on their friends. They don't talk bad about their friends. They like their friends for who they are. Jack didn't show the third thing on my list, even though he was a great friend throughout book and never lied to Auggie, walked away on Auggie, and he liked Auggie for who he was. He talked bad about Auggie behind his back, but he was very sorry about that later on. Julian didn't show any of the things on my list. He lied to his friends, walked away on Jack, and he talked bad (bullied) Auggie. I think Summer was the best friend to August. She may have told Jack Auggie's secret, but she was still a great friend. She liked August for himself, not because Mr. Tushman told her to. August showed every good friend quality except for number two. Even though he had a good reason, he walked away on Jack. August showed his friends that he was normal by being himself, so it was easier for others to get used to his face. He wasn't afraid to be who he really was, and he liked his friends for who they really were. That's what it takes to be a good friend.

Question Number 2#

I think Jack is a very good friend. A friend has to be kind, and do anything for their friend, and Jack punched Julian in the mouth because he talked bad about Auggie behind his back. When they were texting, Jack texted a lot about how sorry he was. Now that's a true friend! Auggie is a good friend because he stood up for them at the Broarwood nature reserve. His friends think of him as a normal kid because he does things a normal kid does. He plays Xbox. He eats ice cream. He plays ball, and other stuff. His family can talk to him more while he's feeling good because if he isn't, he can be difficult. When Summer sits with him, they are both comfortable.

This is question one. Auggie knows that Julian is a bully when he first met him because when they were going up the stairs Julian cut in front of him and that made him stumble.Julian bully's them like for example he left bad notes on Jack and Auggie's lockers. He bully others by teasing them because they are Auggie's friends. Julian bully's other kids to team up against Auggie so he would want to go back to home school. He gains to not have Auggie come to the school anymore. Julian's mom plays a big part of her son bullying she tells the principle that August has mental disabilities but he doesn't. His classmates don't really like him at the end of the story.

I did question number 1. Auggie knows Julian is a bully because when he first met him Julian said " What's the deal with your face " and that's rude. Also during the year August cought Julian saying rude stuff like Jack should ditch August. Julian's mom is part of Julian bullying August because Julian's mom is trying to get August out of Beecher Prep and in school pictures she edits the picture so that August won't be in the picture. Julian hopes to gain as many people to bully August and go against him. For example Julian told the whole school that August had the plague. August's classmates were getting tired of bullying August so instead they help August.

Auggie knows that Julian is a bully because he never is nice. Plus Julian put a note in his locker that said freak. It also said in the book that he did not care about showing him around the school. but Jack and Charlotte did. a way Julian bullies him (and others) is by calling him freak. he bullies others to team up against Auggie because he does not want himself any were near Auggie. so Auggie can not tough him. Thats why he came up with "the plague" to keep everyone away from him. he hopes to gain coolness. the role Julian's mom plays is not wanting her kid to make contact with Auggie and not wanting the school to let special needs kids in the school even if he is not special needs.she wants the school to kick him out of the school. how i think it is i think that Julian does not care anymore and he is going his Owen way. his class mates do not respond anymore because he has stopped bullying Auggie and he has faded from there actions like footprints in sand.
